1978 CORVETTE PACE CAR

----SOLD----

1978 was not only the Corvette's 25th birthday, but also the first time they paced the Indy 500. To celebrate the event, Chevrolet built a series of pace car replicas. Chevrolet was extremely proud of the fact that, as a pace car, the Corvette was the first car to use a completely stock drive train, the first to be built from a one piece fiberglass body, and the only pure two-seater since before World War II. These pace car replicas had their own Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), separate from the standard Corvette, another first for the marquee. The difference between the VIN number for the standard Corvette and pace car replica is in the eighth digit, the pace car replica has a 9, the Corvette a 4. As well as having their own identification, the pace car replicas had their own paint scheme which consisted of a two-tone paint with a red stripe. The extremely high demand for the pace car continually increased the quantity produced, and in the end Chevrolet decided to build one for every Corvette dealer, a total of 6,502.

This is one of the finest examples, and one of the lowest mileage 1978 pace cars in the world, and one of very few pace cars that has actually made a lap at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This piece of automotive history is not just your average pace car. The Corvette has been garage kept all its life. The interior is like new, from the Bill Mitchell inspired sliver leather seats, down to the factory T-top bags, and the still functioning cargo cover. The spoiler and plastics are straight as an arrow, showing no evidence of sun damage, like so many cars of this vintage age. This Corvette is optioned with the bigger and highly desirable L82 V8 engine. It runs as it did in 1978.

The original TCP Spec 1032 tires, with their ground breaking technology are still on the car, proving again what a true, rare, and collectible automobile this is. If the condition and the maintenance of this car aren't enough to set it apart, then the options will. This Corvette is equipped with the optional Gymkhana suspension, which provided the car with better handling and a more satisfying ride. Also the Pace Car is equipped with the optional and very desirable 8-track player, so you and your passenger can still enjoy listening to those late seventies chart toppers. The car has recently been serviced and it is running and functioning as new. This 1978 Corvette Pace Car would be an excellent addition to anyone?s collection, and a very strong investment piece. A car of this period, of this condition, and of this rarity is not only a piece of automobile history, but it is a piece of racing and Indiana history.

1986 PONTIAC FIERO 2M6

----SOLD----

The Pontiac Fiero is a mid-engined sports car that was built by the Pontiac division of General Motors from 1984 to 1988. The Fiero?meaning "proud" in Italian was designed by George Milidrag and Hulki Aldikacti as a Pontiac sports car. The Fiero was the first two-seater Pontiac since the 1926 to 1938 coupes. It also was the first mass-produced mid-engine sports car by a U.S. manufacturer. Many technologies incorporated in the Fiero design such as plastic body panels were radical for its time.
Beautiful All Original 1986 Pontiac Fiero is being offered up for auction. This car is as close as you can get to buying a new Fiero in 2011.  This car is suprisingly peppy, handles like it's on rails, and the mpg is great, it's too bad that Detroit quit making these great little cars. With only 54,000 miles, the car runs and drives as it did in 1986 and the condition of the interior looks nearly untouched. From the seats to the original owners manual and Pontaic's DIY manual, its all like new. It enen has the original air spoiler that makes for a quieter ride, when you remove the glass top. The top can be stored under the front hood in its own convenient storage compartment.  Pontiac Fiero's in this conditon are becoming increasingly harder to find, and as the years go on you can count on this car becoming a future collector car investment.  With the roof removed and the windows down on a back twisty road, this car is truly a joy to drive.
